Background - Big Cicero Creek

Project Background

The Big Cicero Creek Watershed encompasses about 134 square miles of drainage area that is tributary to Morse Reservoir. The majority of the watershed is in Tipton and Hamilton Counties with small portions also in Clinton and Boone Counties. Some areas located along the creek in the City of Tipton and also southwest of the City regularly experience flooding problems.

This project will focus on analyzing the capacity of the existing ditch to convey flow, identifying the existing flooding problems along the creek from County Road 500 West through the City of Tipton, and recommending solutions to the identified flooding problems. The final report is anticipated to be completed in November of 2006.
