Project Description

CBBEL completed a wetland delineation and determination of regulatory jurisdiction for proposed improvements to over 6000 feet of Berlowitz Drain. Wetland impacts resulting from this project were quantified and mitigation measures were incorporated into the proposed improvements. The properties surrounding Berlowitz Drain are progressively being developed into residential subdivisions. The wetland mitigation plan took into consideration the future character of the watershed. The plan was designed in coordination with the plans of the surrounding developers, minimized the additional land required to complete the mitigation, and will provide opportunities for future residents to interact with the site. Plants were selected for the mitigation site with both habitat and aesthetics in mind. Based on the delineated impacted and conceptual mitigation plan, permits were obtained and the conceptual plan was incorporated into the final construction plans for the Berlowitz Drain Improvements projects
