Project Description

The Haw Creek Trail is the longest trail in the Columbus People Trail system.  The trail is a five and a half mile mutli-use facility paralleling Haw Creek.  The project included 1,000 square feet of modular retaining walls and crossed under bridges at four arterial streets.  The project consisted of construction of a 10 foot wide asphalt trail connecting four city parks and the city airport.

Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (CBBEL) provided construction observation services for this project.  CBBEL also redesigned sections of the trail to avoid utility conflicts, improve constructability, and minimize maintenance costs.
