Project Description

CBBEL provided the Tippecanoe County Drainage Board with a hydraulic and hydrologic analysis of the 3.2 square mile Berlowitz Ditch Watershed. The watershed is located in an area of anticipated development near the intersection of State Road 26 and I-65. Based on the analysis, CBBEL designed four regional detention basins, two new structures under existing county highways, and channel improvements in Berlowitz Ditch. The impact of future development in the watershed was incorporated in the design plans.  Increased storm water runoff will be controlled by the designed improvements to maintain the pre-development hydrologic condition.  The project also included wetlands delineation, Army Corps 404 permitting, IDEM 401 permitting, and IDNR floodway construction permitting.
