An Incident and Emergency Action Plan is a safety plan for dam owners that lists the necessary actions to inform others of an incident or emergency, communicate to potential impact areas downstream, and initiate actions to save the dam. An IEAP helps to facilitate timely responses to smaller incidents so that they do not develop into emergencies.
In addition to developing the IEAP template used throughout the state and found in the Indiana Dam Safety Inspection Manual, we have developed more than 100 IEAPs and numerous dam failure flood inundation maps for private and public dam owners.
