Senior Civil Engineer

Burke is seeking a senior civil engineer with civil and water resources engineering experience. In addition to excellent project management and leadership experience, qualified candidates will be self-motivated, committed to customer service, and have a passion for improving the quality of life in local communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Solve complex problems through critical thinking and the application of innovative solutions

Represent the company in meetings with clients, public agencies, and the public

Supervise, review, and mentor staff members

Draft, coordinate, and approve proposals and fee estimates

Oversee and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures

Serve as Senior Project Manager by planning, coordinating, and delivering a diverse portfolio of project work lines including but not limited to:

  • Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modeling
  • Streambank Restoration and Fluvial Erosion
  • Floodplain Mapping
  • Stormwater Master Planning
  • Storm Sewer System Design
  • Regional Stormwater Facility Design
  • Regulated Drain Design
  • Stream Corridor Assessments
  • Dam and Levee Design and Inspection
  • Local Road and Street Design
  • Trail and Greenway Design
  • Streetscape Design

Key Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S in Engineering with 10+ years of project management and supervisory experience.
  • P.E. license in Indiana
  • Excellent leadership and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Working knowledge and experience with state and local regulations
  • Strong negotiation skills
